About

Divers Helping Divers

Mid-Ohio Divers is a non-profit SCUBA diving organization established in Central Ohio. Our members believe that SCUBA diving is a fun, educational, and relaxing hobby, and also understand the importance of giving back to the community. We are family tied together, not by blood, but by a common passion for this amazing sport. With this in mind, our fundraising efforts allow us to make Scuba diving accessible to those, who for various reasons may otherwise never have the opportunity to enjoy the thrill of diving. As an entirely volunteer group, all the funds we raise are put directly toward helping the community.

In the past, our efforts have provided assistance in the form of:

*An electric lift chair to assist divers with physical limitations*

*Ramp to allow wheelchair access to the water for entry and exit*

*Accessible benches and staging areas*

*Scholarships*

*Diver education*

*Involvement in Wounded Warrior project*

*Local community clean-up projects*

*Big Brothers and Big Sisters dive events*

*Financial assistance in purchasing dive gear for divers with specific physical needs*

*Family night for City of Westerville First Responders*

Our meetings are held the first Wednesday of every month, in Worthington, OH, and we encourage divers and non-divers alike to join us. Many of our members come early for conversation, followed by the business portion of our meeting. Here, we keep all of our members up to date on our current activities and discuss and vote on future activities. Visit our events page for details on our next meeting.
